Consumers

What are the steps to take to resiliate my old contract?

None! All you have to do is sign a new contract with HYDROPTION, the old one is automatically terminated.

If you benefit from TRVs and change supplier for the first time, the change is completely free of charge. If you leave a market-priced offer, your supplier may charge you a termination fee. Check its general terms and conditions of sale. You also retain the freedom to change suppliers again, when you wish, including the freedom to return to a supplier you left.

Is there a greater risk of power cutting than with traditional suppliers?

No, the risk of power cutting is the same as with traditional suppliers.

Continuity of supply is therefore guaranteed, since distribution is managed by an actor independent of suppliers: ERDF. Changing suppliers does not require any technical intervention on your installation and does not interrupt the electricity supply.

What are the technical interventions provided by the distribution network? What is the cost of these interventions?

All technical interventions depend on the distribution system operator: ERDF.

If an intervention is necessary, ERDF or one of its subcontractors intervenes. ERDF first invoices this intervention to HYDROPTION, which then invoices you again. This re-invoicing is carried out without any margin for HYDROPTION.

An ERDF Catalogue details all technical services and their prices (pages 14 to 20).

Is it possible to return to the TRVs after choosing a market price offer?

This return is not possible, but HYDROPTION’s market-priced offers are more advantageous so you won’t run any risk.

It is impossible and unnecessary to return to RVRs after choosing a market-priced offer for two main reasons:

  • regulated tariffs will disappear as from 31 December 2015 for professionals
  • Through its subsidiary ÉLECTRICITÉ DE PROVENCE, HYDROPTION offers you offers at market prices for up to 5 years. All our offers allow you to save money compared to TRVs

How do you know if you are really cheaper and get a free quotation?

Will the quality of electricity supply be the same with Électricité de Provence?

Yes, the quality of the energy delivered remains the same because it is, as before, ensured and guaranteed by the transmission and distribution system operators (RTE and ERDF).

The quality of the electricity supplied by HYDROPTION through its subsidiary ÉLECTRICITÉ DE PROVENCE is strictly equivalent to that of the historical suppliers (EDF and GDF SUEZ). It is the transmission and distribution system operators who continue to physically deliver electricity from the renewable producer to the consumer. No change of meter or installation is therefore necessary to take advantage of the advantages of the offers offered by ÉLECTRICITÉ DE PROVENCE.
Finally, the quality of emergency and breakdown services on the network remains unchanged. Indeed, these services are always provided by ERDF regardless of your electricity supplier.

How to sell your electricity on the market ?

The main steps to take to sell your electricity on the market are to connect your production facility to the electricity grid and then choose an aggregator that buys back your production

If you are an electricity producer and wish to resell all or part of your production on the market, you must first obtain a connection to the electricity grid, managed by ERDF. The perm.erdfdistribution.fr website supports you in this process.

Then, you will be free to choose the aggregator that will buy your production: this is one of HYDROPTION’s professions.

Is it risky to sell your electricity on the market?

No, the market risk is carried and managed entirely by HYDROPTION, whose core business is based on a specific expertise in energy exchanges.

Selling electricity on the market is therefore no more risky than selling it with Purchase Obligation contracts. On the contrary, there are no performance constraints in the market and the penalties for failure are much lower and capped.
